Ministry of Music

Music is a vital part of the worship experience. Our church offers many opportunities for you to be a part of this exciting ministry. Vocal and Handbell choirs are the core of the ministry of music. Choirs are organized for every age: children, youth and adults. Vocal and instrumental soloists and ensembles are frequently formed to add to the worship experience.

Temple Choir
The Temple Choir sings for the 10:30 A.M. Worship Service and rehearses on Wednesday at 7:30 P.M. Open to all adults, this choir also presents special season major works.

Chapel Choir
This group sings Sunday mornings periodically throughout the school year and also at Youthfest in the spring.  A wide variety of music is learned-from classical choral literature to gospel and contemporary.

Angel and Wesley Choirs
This choir sings Sunday mornings periodically throughout the school year and the Wesley Choir participates in Choralfest in the spring.  In this well-rounded program, children are taught music but bible lessons, games, and basic music theory.  Each year this choir also does a service project, sings at local nursing homes, and has an end of the year picnic.  Older members of this choir will also begin learning handbells this year.

Temple Bells
This group provides music frequently during one or both church services from Sept.-May.  This group is more challenging music than Beginning Bells.  This year, a full season commitment is preferred.  If you can't attend the director will provide substitutes.  This group may perform pieces with the Temple Choir or other groups throughout the season as well as Christmas and Easter.

Praise Team
This is the place for those who enjoy a more contemporary sound to express their worship through singing.  They provide music during church services as needed.  This year the Praise Team will be joined by more instrumental accompaniment and our goal is to expand and update our musical selections.

Beginning Bells
For those who want to try the bells for the first time or who have experience but aren’t ready for the more challenging music of the Temple Bells.  This group will provide music periodically from Sept.-May.

The Band
A group so new it doesn’t even have a name!  The Band will provide instrumental back-up for the more contemporary songs as needed.  If you play guitar, percussion, drums, keyboard, and can read lead sheets or charts you will enjoy being a part of this new offering.
