Neighborhood Ministry
Neighborhood Ministries is First Church's commitment to being a voice for Jesus Christ in the downtown area of Middletown by meeting the needs of those who live in the vicinity of the church.
Shalom
Shalom is an interfaith temporary housing ministry of FUMC and various other churches in the Middletown area. Shalom provides lodging, food, spiritual nurturing, and access to social service agencies to allow the homeless of social service agencies to allow the homeless of Middletown a new start on life.
Pauline Stalker Memorial Food Pantry
The pantry is open every Tuesday from 2:00pm - 3:30pm for needy neighbors and First Church members to shop for food at one-third of the regular store price.
Clothing Depot
The Clothing depot is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:00am – 1:00pm it offers clothing and shoes for men, women, & children. Toys, Coats, and other items are available.
Special Ministries
Other outreach ministries include quarterly dinners, holiday food baskets, a Christmas Giving Tree, prayer partnerships, Summer Food for Kids.
Adult Programs
FUMC offers on-going and newly forming Adult Small Groups ministries.
Stalker Scholarship Fund
The Stalker Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to students pursuing post high school education.
Emergency Food
Emergency Food Baskets are available as needed from 10am-2pm (Sept-May) and 2pm-5pm (June-Aug). Weekdays except Fridays.
